About Me
My name is Aaron Duran, I am a rising senior at the Colorado School of Mines. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a speciality in Computer Engineering. In addition to my own academics, I am actively a part of the leadership teams for both the Mines chapter of Christian Challenge as well as the Mines Ballroom Club. About My Mentor
My mentor is Dr. Hyesoon Kim, an Associate Professor within the School of Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr Kim has her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and has several research interests revolving around high-performance and computer hardware. The research area of hers that I am personally most interested in is the development of low-power, high-performance embedded processors. Dr. Kim can be reached at hyesoon@cc.gatech.edu
About My Project
Our overall goal with this project is to analyze how High-Performance Computing (HPC) is being utilized to combat the global pandemic of COVID-19. More specifically we are investigating how HPC has shaped our reactions and response to this disease.
